It plays a vital role in self-renewal of stem cells. In addition, GDNF also facilitates differentiation of chained undifferentiated spermatogonia. GDNF with its receptors, activates various signaling pathways essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis. Mutated gene is associated with the development of schizophrenia. GDNF is a potential target for treating Parkinson′s disease. |
