| General description【一般描述】 | Anti-TMPRSS3 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total TMPRSS3 protein. The TMPRSS3 (transmembrane protease, serine 3) gene is mapped to human chromosome 21q22.3. It encodes for a transmembrane protein that is expressed in stria vascularis of the cochlear duct, spiral ganglion neurons, and hair cells. The structure of serine protease includes a transmembrane domain, a scavenger receptor cysteine rich domain (SRCR), a domain for low density lipoprotein receptor A , and a serine protease domain at its carboxyl terminal. |

| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | The TMPRSS3 (transmembrane protease, serine 3) protein promotes the perilymph and endolymph development and also maintains it in the inner ear. TMPRSS3 is associated with cancer progression. Upregulation of the TMPRSS3 is observed in breast pancreatic, colorectal and ovarian cancer and might serve as an important biomarker for the same. Mutation in this gene causes autosomal recessive nonsyndromic hearing impairment. |
