| General description【一般描述】 | The gene TIPARP (TCDD-inducible poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase) is mapped to human chromosome 3q25. It belongs to the poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase (PARP) family. The protein has a PARP catalytic domain, a WWE (tryptophan-tryptophan-glutamate) protein interaction domain and a CCCH-type zinc-finger domain. It is expressed in variety of tissues, including liver, heart, spleen, brain and reproductive organs. |

| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | TIPARP (TCDD-inducible poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase) is controlled by the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR). It is a mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase and works as a transcriptional repressor of AHR. It is required for the transfer of ADP-ribose onto target proteins using NAD+. The environmental toxin 2, 3, 7, 8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin, dioxin (TCDD) increases the expression of this gene. It participates in the inhibition of hepatic gluconeogenesis mediated by TCDD. |
