It causes ubiquitination of the TGF (transforming growth factor)-β membrane receptor, activated Smad (mothers against decapentaplegic homolog)-2/3 and inhibitory Smad7. NEDD4L-mediated ubiquitination of kidney epithelial sodium channels (ENaC) subunits plays an important role in hypertension control. |
