| General description【一般描述】 | LHX8 codes for a LIM homeobox transcription factor that is involved in neuronal differentiation and tooth morphogenesis. LHX8 induces the neuronal expression of Shh that modulates the development of interneuronal progenitors. It also regulates the development of cholinergic neurons in mouse forebrain. It also functions as a germ cell-specific modulator of oogenesis. Rabbit Anti-LHX8 antibody recognizes bovine, human, mouse, rat, canine, chicken, and pig LHX8. |

| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | LHX8 is a member of the LIM homeobox family. Members of this family share common structural features. They all contain 2 tandemly repeated cysteine-rich double-zinc finger motifs, called LIM domains, in addition to a homeodomain. The homeodomain is a DNA-binding domain, and the LIM domains are essential for regulating the activity of these molecules by interacting with other proteins. Members of the family are required for the patterning or the specification and differentiation of different cell types during embryonic development. |
