| General description【一般描述】 | Acinus is a ubiquitous protein that induces apoptotic chromatin condensation in cells. This protein is cleaved by caspase-3 and an additional unknown protease that subsequently generates a small active peptide p17. This small peptide causes in vitro condensation of chromatin when it is added to purified nuclei. In humans and mice, there are three distinct splice variants, namely, AcinusL, AcinusS, and AcinusS′. Rabbit anti-acinus, C-terminal antibody binds to human acinus (approx. 220 kDa) by immunoblotting. |
