ColorWheel^® technology is a novel and proprietary method of creating your own antibody and dye combinations for use in flow cytometry. By incubating any ColorWheel^® antibody with any ColorWheel^® dye, researchers can quickly and simply produce primary conjugated antibodies for use in single color or multicolor flow cytometry analysis. Each ColorWheel^® antibody and dye is lyophilized for long long-term storage, allowing for simplicity and flexibility without compromise. ColorWheel^® technology requires both ColorWheel^® antibody and ColorWheel^® dye for Flow Cytometry application.

Clone BM8.1 is a rat monoclonal antibody that detects murine F4/80 (Adhesion G protein-coupled receptor E1). It targets an epitope within the extracellular domain.

Evaluated by Flow Cytometry in Mouse bone marrow cells.

Flow Cytometry Analysis: Staining of one million mouse bone marrow cells was performed using 5 μL of a 1:1 mixture of Cat. No. CWA-1005, Anti-Mouse F4/80 (BM8.1) ColorWheel^® Dye-Ready mAb and Cat. No. CW-PE ColorWheel^® activated Phycoerythrin (PE) Dye or an equivalent amount of PE-conjugated Rat IgG2b isotype control.

Lyophilized from PBS containing D-Mannitol and Sucrose, normal appearance is a dried pellet. Reconstituted antibody solution is stable and functional as assessed by functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide.

Adhesion G protein-coupled receptor E1 (UniProt: Q61549; also known as Cell surface glycoprotein F4/80, EGF-like module receptor 1, EGF-like module-containing mucin-like hormone receptor-like 1, EMR1 hormone receptor) is encoded by the Adgre1 (also known as Emr1, Gpf480) gene (Gene ID: 13733) in murine species. F4/80 is a multiple-pass membrane protein that is synthesized with a signal peptide (aa 1-27), which is subsequently cleaved off to generate the mature form that contains four extracellular domains, seven transmembrane domains, and four cytoplasmic domains. The extracellular domain contains repeated EGF-like calcium binding domains. F4/80 serves as an orphan receptor and is involved in cell adhesion and cell-cell interactions in the immune system. It is also involved in the development of regulatory T-cells (Tregs). Mice deficient inF4/80 fail to develop peripheral tolerance after inoculation with antigen because of a lack of efferent regulatory T-cell development. Its expression is reported to vary amongst mouse mononuclear populations, being very low or absent from osteoclasts and lung alveolar macrophages. High expression of F4/80 has been proposed as a marker for populations of mouse tissue macrophages that derive from embryonic progenitors and renew independently of blood monocytes. Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8℃. Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial. Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of PBS. Protect from light.
