Inborn errors hindering the synthesis of ether phospholipids might lead to pathological conditions. Phosphoethanolamines (PEs) serve as a substrate for several phospholipids of the cell membrane. They are associated with the phospholipid turnover. PEs are also found to prevent tumor progression. |
