General description【一般描述】 | TAF15 RNA polymerase II, TATA box binding protein (TBP)-associated factor, 68 kDa/TATA-binding protein-associated factor 2N (TAF15, TAF2N), a member of the TET (FET) protein family of RNA binding proteins (RBP), is a nuclear RNA-binding protein that is associated with a distinct population of TFIID and RNA polymerase II complexes. TAF15 plays a role in RNA transport and/or local RNA translation. Rabbit polyclonal anti-TAF15 (AB1) antibody reacts with bovine, human, mouse, and rat TAF15 RNA polymerase II, TATA box binding protein (TBP)-associated factor, 68 kDa proteins. |

Application【应用】 | Rabbit Anti-TAF15 (AB1) antibody has been used for western blot applications at a dilution of 1:1,000. Rabbit polyclonal anti-TAF15 (AB1) antibody is used to tag TAF15 RNA polymerase II, TATA box binding protein (TBP)-associated factor for detection and quantitation by immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to determine the presence and roles of TAF15 RNA polymerase II, TATA box binding protein (TBP)-associated factor in RNA transport and translation. |
Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | Initiation of transcription by RNA polymerase II requires the activities of more than 70 polypeptides. The protein that coordinates these activities is transcription factor IID (TFIID), which binds to the core promoter to position the polymerase properly, serves as the scaffold for assembly of the remainder of the transcription complex, and acts as a channel for regulatory signals. TFIID is composed of the TATA-binding protein (TBP) and a group of evolutionarily conserved proteins known as TBP-associated factors or TAFs. TAFs may participate in basal transcription, serve as coactivators, function in promoter recognition or modify general transcription factors (GTFs) to facilitate complex assembly and transcription initiation. Its gene encodes a subunit of TFIID present in a subset of TFIID complexes.
