SRγ (sex determining region γ) (SOX) are HMG box containing transcription factors that bind to the minor groove of DNA. Sox proteins family members regulate a variety of aspects of development. SRγ (sex determining region γ)-box 3 (SOX3) is an early neural development gene involved in neural precursor cell development, neuroectoderm development and neural plate formation.

Anti-SOX3 (AB2) polyclonal antibody reacts with chicken, zebrafish, human, mouse, rat, and canine SRγ (sex determining region γ)-box 3 proteins.

Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human SOX3

Anti-SOX3 (AB2) polyclonal antibody is used to tag SRγ (sex determining region γ)-box 3 for detection and quantitation by Western blotting and in plasma by immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to determine the roles of SRγ (sex determining region γ)-box 3 in early stage embryonic neurogenesis.

SOX3 is a member of the SOX (SRY-related HMG-box) family of transcription factors involved in the regulation of embryonic development and in the determination of the cell fate. The encoded protein may act as a transcriptional regulator after forming a protein complex with other proteins.
