| Biochem/physiol Actions【生化/生理作用】 | PRPF4 (Pre-mRNA processing factor 4) is a spliceosomal protein highly involved in the pre-mRNA splicing. It acts as a component of U4/U5/U6 tri-snRNP complex during the formation of active core of the spliceosome. Mutation in PRPF4 causes an autosomal dominant disorder, retinitis pigmentosa (RP) characterized with progressive loss of photoreceptors. PRPF4 also plays a role in cell mitosis by participating in the regulation of mitotic spindle assembly. |
