| General description【一般描述】 | H2A histone family member Z (H2AFZ), which is a member of H2A family, is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 4q24. H2AFZ is expressed highly at gene promoters, as well as other regulatory regions, generally involved in positive regulation of transcription. The encoded protein is characterized with N- terminal tail with five lysine residues involved In acetylation and it is associated with mitotic progression. |

Increased expression of H2A.Z leads to various type of cancers, including breast cancer, bladder cancer and malignant melanoma cells. |
