Developmentally regulated RNA-binding protein 1 (DRBP1) is an inducible protein that binds to RNA stability elements (AU-rich elements) in the 3′-untranlated region of fragile mRNAs that appear to be essential for cell (cardiomyocytes) survival during ischemic/hypoxic stress.

Anti-DRB1 polyclonal antibody is used to tag developmentally regulated RNA-binding protein 1 proteins for detection and quantitation by Western blotting and in cells and tissues by immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to study the role of Developmentally regulated RNA-binding protein 1 proteins in cell, cardiomyocyte, survival at the level of survival gene mRNA stabilization.

DRB1 is RNA-binding protein with binding specificity for poly(C) and may play an important role in neural development.
