| General description【一般描述】 | The calcium sensing receptor (CASR) is a 1078 amino acid protein. It has 11 exons and is located on human chromosome 3q13.33-q21.1. CASR belongs to the C family of G protein–coupled receptors. It is located in the parathyroid gland and the thick ascending limb of the Henle loop. Anti-Calcium Sensing Receptor Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Calcium Sensing Receptor protein. |

CASR has a vital role in signal transduction pathways in various tissues like parathyroid gland, kidney, gastrointestinal tract, placenta, pancreas and brain. Mutation in the gene is linked with autosomal dominant hypocalcemic, hypercalciuria and Bartter syndrome. |
